Haha this forum is great! It's about Drumming and not Drums.

The things you learn here are invaluable, my way of looking upon drumming has drasticly changed since i hooked up here at the HOD family!

The heart of drumming from all around the globe is united here on HOD!

Steve, I think it's a good idea to keep the forum as it is, but maybe create more options at the www.houseofdrumming.com page.

Most people I think ( including myself ) checks directly into the messageboards instead of checking out the news at HODmainpage. creating more attention and activity on the mainpage could attract more commercial banners, and through that more $$$ for server-space!

But I think it's small talk, i think the increase of interest for this board is wisely guarded by those wonderful moderators here!

I was just talking with my friends about how tight the drumming community is. My friends were saying that at the Bissonette gig last week, they were cracking up cuz we were all hanging, huging, and telling everyone how much of a monster player the OTHER guy is. It's SO different that any other instrument. You will NEVER find the kind of spirit as the drumming community, and HOD is a VERY important part of the global link.

Pocket pointed out another drum forum to me a couple of years ago with a powder blue background. I thought, this is different. After a while my eyes began to bleed it was so bright. If you spend as much time at the House as I do the old brown is relaxing and doesn't tire the eyes. Also, had I posted at that other site I'd be bleeding from the wounds to my body; they are screamingly funny over there, but brutal.

It's the officer-and-gentlemen thing that makes HOD work so well and imbue it with class. It's okay to razz somebody here because their opinion doesn't align with yours, but we do it with boxing gloves on in the ring with a referee. Not with flamethrowers and knives to the back.

Although I may laugh more there, I learn more here. (I must admit however Fuse & Klemme have kept me howling the whole weekend.)

And as far as Mr. Seipel's celebrity is concerned: I might not recognize you if our paths crossed, but I'd recognize that white kit anywhere. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Yeah HOD is frickin great, from my previous experience of Message boards i didn't know how you guys could keep from the "should i buy this or this" "is mike portnoy better than neal peart" etc

But i came here loving Vinnie a little bit, and then from here i learned about him so much more! And all the greats that now frequent here like Gary Husband, Peter Erskine, or Steve Hass/Holmes/Michaud!

and the day Steve Holmes had the idea of making this site, oh my, haha, i mean now i'm coming to L.A and because of this site i have people i can hang with when im there!!

ah im just rambling now lol, but HOD is frickin great!

Yes. He man in the picture is me.
Again, I would like to associate a face to every member of this forum. It?s very easy to take a picture and put it here, and gives something really good to the forum.
As far as the new look of the forum:
I would change the colors (a little) and I propose not to organizate the topics in categories:"hardware,drummers,technique,etc...".
I like to see in one click all the new posts. Just my opinion.
And yes:
